  | WCC Purpose | The purpose of the Walton Christian Church is the same as the Church revealed in the New Testament: To praise God with all of our heart, mind, and soul. To restore the relationship between God and man by proclaiming Jesus as Lord and Savior of all mankind. To instruct and nurture those who are already Christians.
Our purposes are based on many Scriptures but two Scriptures, known as the Great Commandment and the Great Commission, sum up all the other Scriptures. The Great Commandment reads: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it, "Love your neighbor as yourself." - Matthew 22:37-39. The Great Commission reads: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." - Matthew 28:18-20 Our message to the world is simply this: You Matter To God! | WCC Preaching and Teaching | Our preaching here is always from the Bible. We believe that the Bible is God's Word. It contains all man needs to know to live his life in harmony with God and his fellow man. Through preaching, our ministers seek to give you the truths and principles of God's Word in a way that is applicable to your life, both personally and professionally. Because we believe the Bible to be the Word of God we stress our Sunday School and Adult Bible Fellowship programs. It is through these small group encounters that you will find encouragement, care, and strength for daily living. Our teachers seek to help their students understand God's Word and God's love for each individual. | WCC Plea | Walton Christian Church is structured after the pattern of the churches in the New Testament. We do not seek to be another denomination, for, sadly, the church is already too divided. We seek to unite all Christians by restoring the New Testament order to the Church. We wear only the name Christian because it is the name given in the Book of Acts to the early Church (Acts 11:26). We have no creed but that expressed by Peter, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16) We acknowledge Jesus as the head of the church. (Colossians 1:18)
Our plea is to unite all people who believe in God, accept the Bible as His revealed word of truth and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. | WCC Plan | The Bible teaches that belonging to the Church and belonging to Christ are one and the same thing. The same thing that makes you a Christian makes you a part of the Church. When we examine the examples of conversion in the New Testament (Acts 2; 8; 9; 10; 16), we find that no waiting period was required, no catechism involved, no "experience" asked for, and no voting on the candidate's acceptability. When one was convinced that Jesus was the Christ (Messiah), the Son of the living God and the Savior of men, then the believer was urged to respond in faith by repenting of past sins, by confessing their faith in Christ, and by being baptized. These acts do not constitute works of merit, but are simple responses to the grace of God. The Scriptures teach that there are two ordinances Christ has given the Christian Church to observe. They are: Baptism. The repentant believer is immersed (baptize is a Greek word which means immerse) in water for the remission of sins (Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3-4). Communion. The Lord's Supper is observed every Lord's Day in remembrance of Him (Matthew 26:26-28; Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 11:2, 23-26).
